A Day in the Life of a Health and Wellness Coach
Ever wonder what a typical day looks like for a personal trainer and wellness coach? The truth is, there is a rarely a “typical day” - each one is unique! But if you’re curious about what fills my hours, this snapshot should give you a good idea of how I structure my days to best serve my clients and maintain my own well-being.
The absolute key to my daily success is quality sleep. Since my mornings start so early, so does my bedtime - usually around 8:30-9 pm. It’s non-negotiable! I thrive on a solid 8 hours, so if I’m up at 5 am, you guessed it, I’m in bed by 9 pm. (ps - curious about why sleep is so critical? My Daily Flow:
5:00 AM: My alarm signals the start of my day. If it’s time for my own workout, I’ll get ready and start with drinking water as soon as I wake up - want to boost your hydration? I help clients with that as well - it’s so important!
6:00 AM: I’m already on the road, finished with my own workout and heading to meet my first personal training client of the day.
7:30 AM: Back at home for a quick refuel! I feed my pups, say good morning to my family, and make my own breakfast. Lately, it’s all about eggs, and of course, plenty of coffee and more water!
8:00 AM - 10:00 AM: This block is for catching up on emails, preparing for upcoming wellness coaching client calls, and tackling any new posts or blogs that need my attention.
10:00 AM - 12:00 PM: I dive into wellness coaching client check-ins, using the practice better app, providing feedback on their goals and progress. I’m looking at everything from their food intake, hydration, movement and so much more! This is also when I design personalized workout plans for my clients in the weeks ahead.
12:00 PM - 1:00 PM: More catch up time and a chance to enjoy lunch with my husband!
1:00 PM - 5:00 PM: My primary window for wellness coaching calls with clients. These are mostly virtual, but I also enjoy in-person visits when possible. We talk through action steps and progress on client goals during this time, and adjust where we need to.
5:00 PM - 6:00 PM: Time to wrap things up, organize for tomorrow and ensure I’m ready to hit the ground running for another fulfilling day! Oh, and start on dinner :)
